Tribal Sub-Plan

The Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP), now often referred to as Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes (DAPST) or Schedule Tribe Component (STC), is primarily implemented under the constitutional provisions of Article 275(1) and the Fifth/Sixth Schedules of the Indian Constitution. Introduced during the 1974-75 Fifth Five-Year Plan, it mandates that Union and State governments allocate budgetary funds proportional to the ST population for their targeted development.
