Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956

  (Central Act No. 104 of 1956) 

It is extended to the Union Territory Goa, Daman and Diu by the Goa, Daman & Diu (Laws) No.2 Regulation,1963 (Central Act 11 of 1963) promulgated by the President of India under Article 240 of the Constitution of India, published in the Government Gazette Series –I No. 22 dated 29/5/1964 and came in to force with effect from 1^st March 1964  as the date appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Goa, Daman and Diu vide Notification published in the Government Gazette Series- I No.9  dated  27/2/1964. The title of the Act was substituted from Suppression of Immoral Traffic in Women and Girls Act1956 vide Act of  44 of 1986 w.e.f. 26-1-1987.
